Life

Lova Dahn (born March, the 3rd, 1997) is a Swedish artist and animator noted for her oil paintings, digital art and drawing, as well as for sharing time-lapse animations and tutorials online.

Early life and education
Lova Dahn was born in 1997 in Sweden. She began her formal artistic training at the ‘Swedish Academy of Realist Art’ in Simrishamn in 2018 and graduated in 2020. Her work has been deeply influenced by masters of the Italian Renaissance and Baroque periods, notably Caravaggio, Artemisia Gentileschi and William-Adolphe Bouguereau.

Artistic career
Dahn works across multiple media, including traditional oil on linen as well as digital painting and drawing. She posts her creations, and behind-the-scenes animation process videos on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, where she also offers tips and tutorials for fellow artists. Her style blends classical composition and chiaroscuro techniques with a contemporary, often surreal sensibility. Although she employs digital tools for planning and refinement, Dahn has stated she does not use any AI-generated tools in her process, preferring to maintain hands-on control over every aspect of her work.

Personal life
Dahn has discussed how creating art provides focus and comfort, a feeling she says is heightened by her autism diagnosis. She views each project as an immersive journey and strives to build a “visual story that transports viewers into a surreal world”.
